Electoral Declaration of Jessica Martínez
Candidate: Member of the California Assembly for District 56
Party Preference: Republican
I am running for 56th State Assembly because I am tired of the legislation that comes out of Sacramento. That legislation is not family friendly. It is not job friendly. It is not business friendly. That legislation has driven-up prices on housing and other basic needs. Wages are not keeping up with inflation and regulations are driving businesses out-of-state.
Our state is pushing EV’s although we do not have the electrical infrastructure to support EV’s. If you own a gas-powered vehicle, you are paying $1.20 to $1.40 per gallon in taxes and fees.
It is important to pass legislation that makes sense. It is wrong to decide on policy without caring about the consequences for the people who live here.
I have worked in education, private industry and government. As a councilmember I saw the difficulties faced by cities trying to keep up with the new laws. You as a voter are paying the price. Our educational system needs an overhaul because, despite the large amount of money per student being poured into education, our students are failing.
I have served as a trustee, a board member and as director of several boards in order to safeguard local natural habitats. One example: I promoted the helipad for the fire department in Hacienda Heights. I worked to safeguard our community by making sure we had enough police protection.
Send me to Sacramento. I will fight for you.
Vote for Jessica Martinez.
